Frequently asked questions

How does Arc archive ChatGPT Enterprise conversations?
Arc uses OpenAI's enterprise compliance APIs to pull ChatGPT Enterprise conversations at the tenant level. Customers grant Arc a compliance-scoped token, Arc polls for new conversations and exports, archives them with full metadata, and writes them to the encrypted store. The same flow runs regardless of seat count.
What about M365 Copilot?
Microsoft Purview surfaces Copilot interactions as records in the M365 audit log and compliance retention store. Arc connects to Purview, pulls the records, normalizes them into the Arc archive alongside ChatGPT and the other channels, and applies the same retention and search rules. You get one searchable archive instead of one per platform.
Is Claude Enterprise supported today?
Connection is wired and capture is in design partner today, with broader availability on the near-term roadmap. Claude Enterprise uses the same compliance-scope token model as ChatGPT Enterprise, so the integration is straightforward.
Do users have to install anything?
No. Every supported platform exposes an admin-level compliance API. Arc connects at the tenant level, not the user level - your users keep using ChatGPT, Copilot, and Claude exactly as they do today, and archiving happens out-of-band.
What metadata is captured?
User identity (email + SSO ID), conversation ID, timestamp, prompts, model responses, tool calls (where the platform exposes them), file uploads, and any system prompts the user injected. Enough to satisfy SEC 17a-4 books-and-records requirements and FINRA 3110 supervision review.
How does this fit with our existing email/IM archive?
Arc Enterprise feeds into the same Comma Compliance archive that captures WhatsApp, iMessage, Signal, and the other 40+ channels. One search interface, one retention policy, one export format. Most regulated firms already use Comma for the human-channel side; Arc Enterprise extends that to AI without bolting on a separate archive.
